The MSA G1 SCBA XR Edition improves firefighter safety, mobility, communication, and comfort during structural firefighting and emergency response. Built with upgraded ergonomics and advanced integrated technology, the MSA G1 helps firefighters operate more effectively in smoke-filled and hazardous environments.

Key enhancements include an improved breathing air regulator that is easier to operate with gloved hands, a lightweight and compact facepiece with low breathing resistance, and a swiveling lumbar pad that improves balance and overall comfort. The XR Edition also features reduced overall SCBA weight, longer adjustable straps, and waist-mounted hose and pouch configurations that improve fit and mobility for a wider range of body sizes.

Integrated technology within the MSA G1 SCBA includes a dual colour LCD and analog control module display, heads-up display (HUD), integrated communication systems, buddy lights, reflective materials, and optional integrated thermal imaging camera (iTIC) configurations. Bluetooth, RFID, NFC, and long-range radio technology help improve firefighter accountability, communication, and situational awareness on the fireground.

Additional configuration options include Quick-Fill, ExtendAire II, PASS telemetry systems, rechargeable or alkaline battery systems, and threaded or quick-connect cylinder attachments. Removable soft goods simplify cleaning and maintenance, while backward compatibility allows many XR Edition upgrades to integrate with existing MSA G1 SCBA units.

The MSA G1 SCBA XR Edition is NIOSH approved and certified to NFPA 1970 (2025), the current performance standard for fire service SCBA, along with NIOSH 42 CFR Part 84.
