Clear communication can make a critical difference during fireground operations. When supported radios are properly paired with the MSA G1 SCBA, crews can communicate more effectively through the facepiece, helping improve coordination, confidence, and situational awareness in demanding conditions
To help simplify the setup process, MSA offers step-by-step radio pairing guides for compatible third-party radios. These guides are designed to support departments in connecting compatible third-party radios to the G1 SCBA and provide guidance on:
- Required radio configuration settings for pairing, connection, and operation with the G1 SCBA
- Common audio routing options available, which may vary based on radio model, accessories, licensing, and available features
- Recommendations based on testing results and customer feedback
Pairing guides are currently available for the following radio models:

- Motorola APX™
