FIREBULL AB & Enforcer AIR 3 Achieve Lithium Battery Fire Standard Under NTA 8133:2021

A breakthrough in clean, effective lithium battery fire suppression.

Fire departments and safety professionals now have verified proof that FIREBULL® AB fluorine-free foam and the Enforcer AIR 3 compressed air foam system deliver world-class performance in the toughest fire scenarios. Together, these two innovations from Enforcer One, LLC have successfully met the NTA 8133:2021 fire performance requirements — the only recognized standard for extinguishing lithium-ion battery fires.

Certified Testing at Chippewa Valley Technical College

Independent testing was conducted at the Chippewa Valley Technical College Fire Safety Center under the direction of Chris Turner. Results confirmed that FIREBULL AB and the Enforcer AIR 3 provide rapid fire control, superior cooling, and complete extinguishment of lithium battery fires — all without PFAS or fluorinated chemicals.

Understanding NTA 8133:2021 — The Lithium Battery Fire Standard

NTA 8133:2021 is an internationally recognized benchmark that evaluates how well extinguishing agents and portable extinguishers perform against thermal runaway events involving lithium-ion cells.

During testing, FIREBULL AB and the Enforcer AIR 3 were measured against three critical criteria:

  • Rapid extinguishment: FIREBULL AB eliminated flames within 16–20 seconds of ignition — far exceeding the three-minute requirement.
  • Extended cooling: The Enforcer AIR 3 provided an additional 40 seconds of spray time to cool the cells and prevent rekindle.
  • Battery preservation: In one test, FIREBULL AB preserved two sets of cells, and in another, three sets maintained a 3.7-volt charge post-extinguishment.

These results were achieved with tests up to 600 Wh, fully meeting the rigorous performance expectations set in Annex A of NTA 8133.

Why FIREBULL AB Excels in Lithium-Ion Fire Suppression

Unlike conventional water or AFFF-based foams, FIREBULL AB uses an advanced, fluorine-free formulation that rapidly absorbs heat and cools burning cells. This prevents re-ignition and achieves true extinguishment, not just temporary flame suppression.

This makes FIREBULL AB ideal for environments where sustained temperature control is critical — such as EV manufacturing plants, battery testing facilities, and storage areas containing e-mobility devices or energy systems.

Environmentally Responsible, PFAS-Free Protection

FIREBULL AB represents the next generation of eco-conscious firefighting foam. It is 100% PFAS-free, non-toxic, and non-hazardous, ensuring safety for firefighters, the public, and the environment.

Because it leaves no harmful residue and requires no special cleanup, FIREBULL AB aligns with new PFAS restrictions being implemented across North America and worldwide.

Proven Benefits Across Multiple Sectors

The NTA 8133 certification underscores how FIREBULL AB and Enforcer AIR 3 can enhance safety and readiness across a variety of industries:

  • Municipal Firefighting: Provides verified, PFAS-free performance for emerging lithium battery and EV fire risks.
  • EV & Battery Manufacturing: Protects high-risk production areas, testing facilities, and charging stations.
  • Warehousing & Logistics: Delivers rapid suppression of fires in battery-powered tools, scooters, and e-mobility products.
  • Fleet & Transportation: Offers portable, easy-to-deploy protection for electric and hybrid vehicle operators.

“This achievement reinforces Enforcer One’s leadership in advancing clean firefighting technologies,” said Ron Thames, President and CEO of Enforcer One, LLC. “With FIREBULL AB and Enforcer AIR 3, we’re delivering safer, sustainable tools to address the fire risks of tomorrow.”
