Gloves shall meet or exceed Federal OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Standards), 29 CFR 1910.156 “Fire Brigades” (e) “Protective Clothing”, (4) Hand Protection. The National Fire Protection Association, NFPA-1971 standard “Protective Ensemble for Proximity and Structural Fire Fighting” 2007 Edition.

Documentation by an independent certified testing laboratory shall be submitted to verify gloves meet or exceed the NFPA 1971 (2007 Edition). Third party certification shall be required to verify that gloves pass all the following parameters:

  • User information – supplied with each pair of gloves
  • Grip Test
  • Minimum of 5 sizes be made available
  • Thermal Protection Performance (TPP)
  • Viral penetration resistant
  • Conductive heat resistance
  • Liquid penetration resistant (5 chemicals plus water)
  • Flame Resistance
  • Whole glove integrity
  • Punctures resistance
  • Glove donning time
  • Heat resistance
  • Label integrity after washing

Thermal Protection Performance (TPP)
Glove Corporation's 3 part construction gloves (NFPA) offer the highest Thermal Protection Performance (TPP), greater than 60 cal/cm, which is nearly double the NFPA requirement of 35cal/cm.

Breathability
Glove Corporation's Sentinel breathable Bloodborne pathogen barrier is a monolithic polyurethane which is tough strong and extremely durable while at the same time remaining very flexible  not limiting dexterity while in use. Glove Corporation's top grain elk and Eversoft cowhide leathers are water resistant to allow the glove to breathe even in wet conditions.

GLOVE BOND is a new adhesive system unique to The Glove Corporation and uses a specially developed MOISTURE CURED adhesive system that once applied cannot be removed. The system has been developed by The Glove Corporation especially for the use of barrier insert glove systems.

GLOVE BOND enables all of the components to be locked to the outer shell, over the entire finger area, in a way that is not possible with adhesive tape methods. Once applied the components cannot to be pulled apart without destroying the glove liner or barrier.

ADVANTAGES of the Glove Corporation's new and unique system are that it improves the dexterity and the bond strength by eliminating the tape at the end of the finger tips as well as allowing more room inside the glove for the wearer.  This is achieved by locking the components to the outer shell with the moisture cured adhesive which holds the inner area of the entire glove.  The adhesive is breathable also, enabling the entire glove system to breathe as an ensemble, through our water repellent outer glove.
